The Board of Nursing is responsible for regulating nursing education, licensure and practice. All nurses are responsible for upholding the rules and regulations as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act. State Legislatures can enact changes to the Practice Act when in session. Nurses are notified of proposed and adopted changes in these rules according to each states practice regulations

As a nurse, you work hard to maintain your license to practice. It is very important that you are familiar with the rules that govern nursing practice, and that you keep current with all rule revisions and additions. NAA recognizes that nurses need assistance in understanding and upholding the rules and regulations that govern our individual practices. We also understand the critical need for continual education, the importance of creating safe practice environments, and the difficulties nurses face in their practices each and every day.
